Thanks Everybody.  Both Susie and Adam Berg thought the wedding was fantastic!

Severe Weather Warning!
Travel safely!
(Last Updated by Josh on 12-18)

The Venue has been changed!
The bad news is that Lewis & Clark College will be closed all weekend due to the weather, making the original wedding site unavailable.
The good news is that the new wedding site is much closer to the hotel!
The new wedding location will be:

The Phoenix Inn
15402 NW Cornell Rd.
Beaverton, OR
Directions from Extended Stay Hotel:
Head east on Cornell Rd for 2.3 miles.
You will cross over Hwy 26.
The Phoenix Inn is on the right. (It's almost too easy!)

Adam and Susie's Wedding!

The day you said would never come is less than two days away!
Happy almost Chanukah!  Between the the festival of lights and the inauguration comes the Do-Not-Miss-Unless-You-Have-Other-Plans-Unless-You-Are-Trying-To-Get-Out-Of-Those-Other-Plans,-In-Which-Case-This-Might-Work-Out-For-You event of the season:  Adam and Susie’s wedding!

Ceremony Details

December 20th, 2008 at our alma mater, Lewis & Clark College’s Smith Hall The Phoenix Inn of Beaverton.  This small room, tucked away in the Albany building just off of the scenic Sunset Highway in Beaverton used to be the servants’ quarters, which is totally unrelated, and in no way metaphorical to, our wedding.

Since it is the shortest day of the year, the ceremony will be early, at 12 noon.  Lunch (and dessert, knowing the Bergs) will follow.  Wine (and lots of it, knowing the Rakowskis) will be flowing freely.  Well, not freely so much as cheaply (knowing both Adam and Susie).  These will be the finest $4 bottles of wine ever sold by Trader Joe’s (knowing the Bergs and the Rakowskis).

Other Details

Prepare for cold weather and rain; you never know which of these exciting options we will have on December 20th.

This will be an informal affair, so please dress however you feel like dressing; no need to buy a new outfit (unless you want to give the ailing economy a boost!)

We are not inviting children.  They would probably have more fun with a baby sitter or their crazy uncle than at a wedding.

Registry

Registry
What do you get the couple that has nothing?  What about the couple that has nothing and likes it that way?
We will be buying a home soon, and will need some luxuries (like a bed and tv) at that point.  A gift card from Sears would be most helpful to us.  We are registered at Sears (we're listed under Adam Berg or Susan Rakowski; location: Aloha OR) for some items for the house and we have also created an online registry (click here) for a few specific items that we know we will use and enjoy.  Still, those are all luxuries--we don't need anything.  To that end, we have selected a few non-profits and our college as great organizations that help people improve themselves.  Feel free to donate in lieu of giving a gift.

Jewish Family and Child Services:  Adam used to work here.  It is a great organization staffed by wonderful people (now that Adam is out). JFCS serves all communities in the Portland area.

Catholic Family Services:  This organization follows a long tradition of helping those most in need.

Lewis & Clark College:  We met here.  We both received a wonderful education, and would support any effort to help others get the same quality of education.
