[Out of gas in the middle of a desert. Clark is going crazy as he trots through the hills.]
Clark: We passed a God damn gas station every 10 yards for 1000 miles, but when you really need one, you end up walking your ass off. This is no way to run a desert!

Once you leave the Meditaranian Coast and Istanbul, things change quickly.  We are among Turks, Kurds and Iranians, in small villages and large cities.  Ramadan continues to restrict our expoloration of Turkish cuisine, but what we have eaten is great!

Landscape

Eastern Turkey is home to rugged terrain and friendly folk. Ruins of empires long gone dot the landscape on every bus ride we take.

People

Once we left Istanbul, foreigners are scarce. Prices have dropped, friendliness increased, and we are seeing some amazing sites.
