2009
Update 12/30/2009: I just had a photo published by the NY Times. It is in a montage of photos, but I am still proud of it! The photo montage is titled "Documenting the Decade".

What a year. Lots of life events, fewer travel adventures. We got married at the end of 2008 (worse blizzard ever!). The best gift was certainly my first day back after the wedding, when my EUT manager gave* me the gift of free time, in the form of unemployment. Thus, 2009 appears to be ending much as it started in at least one way...job hunting!
I returned to my old job at Intel, where once again, Holli and Gaylon took good care of me...thanks guys! Meanwhile, Susie started her new job as a science editor--it is her first corporate job, and she is handling it very well!
Finally, we found a great house thanks to our amazing realtors,
Shannon Spence and Jeanne Tobey! I won't go into details, but I should point out that is at least 2 square feet bigger than Josh's house. I guess I could post photos, but it is so much easier to post this
video instead. The house was occupied by nuns for the past 25 years...the video was made for one of them who wanted to see her old house.
Susie's parents donated a bunch of furniture they were (mostly) no longer using. We rented a U-haul and drove from Memphis to the Bay Area, and up to the new house. It was actually a nail biting trip...2800 miles in 4 days. We put in 12 hours of driving time every day, which came out to be about 14 hours. We didn't see any sights or do anything particularly fun...we just drove.
In other local news, here is me [Adam] on local news. We did a
martial arts demo for National Safety Day or somesuch. My 1st section is at 1:20 minutes into the video. We are striking slowly because it is more clear on the camera. My front kick isn't slow...I swear!
We did go to Yosemite this summer, and in November we spent a few days in Denver. My friend Louie and his 10 year old son August and I went backpacking on Mt. Adams in late September. It was still sunny and warm...during the day anyway. As homeowners, we still get to see new places.
